Who is @faz3? Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum

Behind the Handle: Who is @faz3?

In an era where social media is dominated by influencers, celebrities, and internet personalities, few digital footprints command as much global fascination as @faz3. Boasting millions of followers, the handle serves as a digital window into a world that blends high-stakes government leadership, extreme adventure, and deep-rooted cultural tradition.

Behind @faz3 is Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum—widely known by his pen name and moniker, Fazza—the Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence.

The Meaning of “Fazza”

The handle @faz3 is a nod to his poetic pen name, Fazza (فزاع), which translates roughly from Arabic to “the one who helps” or “the one who rushes to the aid of others.”

Long before Instagram feeds and viral reels, Sheikh Hamdan began publishing Nabati poetry under this pseudonym. The name reflects a chivalric persona deeply embedded in Gulf Bedouin culture—someone dependable, brave, and community-focused. Over time, the moniker bled seamlessly into his public-facing digital identity, giving his online presence an authentic cultural anchor.

A Modern Royal Feed: Beyond the Protocol

What makes @faz3 stand out in the landscape of official royal accounts is its raw, adventurous, and deeply personal aesthetic. While the feed features milestone political events and official state duties, it is primarily known for capturing jaw-dropping moments of action and nature.

• Extreme Sports & Adrenaline: If it involves speed, height, or water, Fazza has likely tried it. His timeline features everything from skydiving over Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah and deep-sea diving with whale sharks to snowboarding down snowy peaks and high-altitude cycling.
• A Passion for Photography: An avid photographer, Sheikh Hamdan frequently uses his platform to highlight stunning visual storytelling. He is also the founder of the Hamdan International Photography Award (HIPA), one of the world’s most lucrative photography competitions.
• Equestrian Excellence & Animal Lover: Growing up with a deep affinity for horses and falconry, his posts often showcase his competitive endurance riding (including winning gold at the FEI World Equestrian Games) alongside softer moments with wildlife and family.

Bridging Tradition and the Future

As Crown Prince and a key cabinet minister, Sheikh Hamdan plays a central role in driving Dubai’s futuristic ambitions—from space exploration and artificial intelligence to economic diversification. Yet, through @faz3, he maintains a relatable bridge to the public.

In a digital space often curated for perfection, @faz3 remains a masterclass in modern personal branding: maintaining the dignity of state leadership while sharing a genuine sense of wonder for the world.
